Receptionist - Kent

This small 4* Hotel with function facilities for up to 200 plus a golf club and 2 golf courses is set in beautiful Kent.  The Restaurant has a 60 seater restaurant with 1 Rosette and the Hotel also boasts a Golf Club House which serves light snacks.

Our client is looking to appoint a Receptionist who will assist in the smooth running of the Front office.  The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within a Hotel with excellent communication and customer service skills.  Ability to work well within a team is also of high importance.  You will be the first point of contact when guests arrive at the Hotel, so a smart appearance and friendly manner is imperative.

They are currently looking to employ a Financial Controller to ensure the day to day functions of the Accounts Department and to comply to the Company’s procedures and all UK statutory requirements.  The role will also involve using Sage, Excel, Word and specialist hotel software.   The main responsibilities are the daily banking reconciliations, purchase ledger, supplier payment runs, debt collection, payroll, journal entries, prepayments and accruals, VAT returns, and control account reconciliations.  Additionally some personnel administration is required.

You will be the only person in the accounts department and will report to the Financial Director who visits weekly.  You must be self-reliant and happy to handle routine as well as complex work. Edward-Brooks has recently recuited Lynn Packham as Administrator in the Sussex office.  Lynn has worked in the Hospitality Industry since leaving college and has worked in many hotels in the South East.

Edward-Brooks is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Easy, the new Managing Consultant who will work with Mark in the Sussex office.

Sarah brings with her a wealth of recruitment experience as well as sound knowledge of the Hospitality Industry which she has been in since training for her degree in Hospitality in 1993.  Sarah has worked in many Country House Hotels as well as 4/5* establishments in the South East.  More recently, Sarah has been in Recruitment, travelling nationally for a work-based training provider to promote training within the Hospitality Industry.

This reflects the overall ownership within the company that took place during the latter part of last year. There will be no other changes to the company or its structure at this stage, other than the web site and e-mail address.

The offices remain in West Sussex and Central London, although a further London based consultant and associate will be assisting the selective management recruitment, which has developed over the last three years.
